I bought a few santa suits at Family Dollar. I jazzed them up for all of the Davidson dogs for Christmas day. We have 5 dogs in the family now and we missed seeing cousin Sookie this Christmas, but plan to visit her soon. The pictures include Stiletto and Quigley (Natalie's dogs), April (Grandpa and Grandma's dog), and Hank (Dad and Mom's dog). It was definitely a zoo, but the puppy, Hank, actually calmed down inhis little elf suit. Therefore, Hank wore his outfit a lot during the day.

Handmade Heaven

I have had a blast over the past few months makinghomemade gifts for friends. Below, are pics of a jar designed as a timer for time out with kiddos (lime green). Jess has been using hers to help the kiddos get ready on time in the mornings. I gave several tea bag wreaths away this season, as well. My favorite gift this year was to one of my co-workers addicted to the Twilight series. She didn't think Edward's ashes were too funny (but, I did). If you haven't read the series or seen the movies, Edward sparkles when seen in daylight. I also stole an idea from a friend and have been cranking out crocheted throws (thanks Su).

I get a lot of ideas from Pinterest and will try to do a better job of giving the original creators credit in 2012. Check back often, my new goal for 2012 is to complete a craft once a week for the entire year. I am also attempting to use only the supplies in my craft room at home. It is time to craft! Note: I reserve the right to take a craft break during the summer camp season!

New Addition to the Davidsons

Greetings Friends! Sorry it has been awhile since a post. I will have new house pics up soon and news about the new camp job. I am getting settled in and love the new job.

I have been considering getting Stilletto a companion for her long days playing in the yard. The vet called my dad about some possible dogs for my grandparents and I ended up going to see the dogs. I ended up getting a puppy and my grandparents ended up getting her older sister the next day.

The new addition is very shy, but slowly warming up to her new sisters. Oedipus is open, but hesitant as well. Enjoy the pics and I hope to get some others up soon. I named the puppy Quigley because she is from Down Under. She is a toy Australian Shepherd. Her maximum height will be 12 inches and 20 pounds max. She is small for a toy too! She has one blue eye and one brown eye (her brown eye looks scary in the pics, but she is more than adorable in real life)!

Quigley is also getting settled into the family and I'll post some pics of all the kids soon. Who thought I would love dogs so much? Good work Julianne and Zoe!

In March, I took a trip to Texas to recruit for Asbury. I drove through Meridian on my way to Baylor and Texas A&M. Below, are pics of the first church I served, my first garage apartment, and my first house. The garage apartment was next to the slaughter house and I can remember saying goodbye to the animals each morning as I got in the car to commute to school. The cute piggies would be gone upon my return. These were some of the most formative years of my life. Lifelong memories and friends were made in Meridian.

Stiletto slept a total of close to ten minutes last night. I sounded like we were in the middle of a battleground. Every few minutes a tree would crack sending out a shotgun sound. They are still cracking today due to the new layer of snow. We are planning to be in for awhile.

Kentucky is under a state of emergency. What? The news is saying stay in and only get on the road if you have an emergency. The night is weird. Everyone is inside and you can hear the tree branches cracking and dropping. I can also hear the local police officer drive by every half hour. I added some pics of the ice from earlier today. I can't wait until tomorrow!

Boston Baked Beans

I recently had the chance to go to Boston for work. Our staff had a great time hanging out and learning more about admissions and recruiting. We tried the Boston Baked Beans at a local restaurant and they weren't much to write home about . . . I shouldn't be wasting space here either about them.
Scott enjoyed the lobster. The conference hosted a dinner at a mansion on the coast. I can't think of the name of the mansion at this very moment, but it is the mansion from Meet Joe Black with Brad Pitt. So . . . I could say I have been to Brad Pitt's house right?
The best part of the trip was when Courtney hid in our rental car trunk and jumped out to scare our boss and team. Courtney is the one in the picture laughing her head off. Our boss' reaction almost made us all wet our pants. She jumped and screamed for at least 20 seconds. Enjoy the pics!

Marleigh and Jessica came to visit! It was fun to see how much Marleigh has changed over the last eight months. Stiletto loved Marleigh and is still looking for her constantly and whining for her. Stiletto taught Marleigh how to pull her rope. They were buds! Oedipus is getting a lot of attention from Stiletto and is quickly losing weight from all her running around the house. I'll try to catch a pic of her soon (if I can find her). We had a cool front today and it is about 65 outside at 10:00pm. WONDERFUL! I'm thinking of you Texans!

New Bag O' Tricks

Stiletto had her first adventure with the next door neighbor dog (Michael Jordan). He goes by MJ and he came over to play. It only took about five minutes for MJ to have enough of Stiletto's puppiness.

Stiletto and I have been working on some new tricks. When grandma was here visiting a few weeks ago we threw Stiletto's toy so much she had to sleep on it to make sure we weren't throwing it without her.

She can sit, lay down and stay for exactly 5 seconds.

It is toasty! We went from frost on the ground to 89 degrees. I fear I am becoming a yankee. I must make a trip back to the motherland soon! I fear I won't be able to handle the heat! I feel I need to bring Stiletto soon or she will have major culture shock when we make the transition back to Texas. We might have to do northern Oklahoma next and slowly work our way south (Just kidding Jessica and mom).

Oedipus Highlights

I have been getting a lot of junk from friends about Oedipus' lack of exposure on my blog. If you know Oed, you know why she doesn't get much air time. She's a tad bit snooty and hard to catch on film. Here is the best pic to date (I don't want to hear about how Stiletto made the shot too).

Oedipus has been on a diet recently. Believe it or not . . . she is a senior cat. Oed is going on 12-13 years old. WOW! It is strange how she ages, but I do not! HA! She has lost a ton of weight and is feeling young again. She put the smack down on Stiletto twice today. She rocks!

When the cat vet calls to weigh Oedipus she calls her Odipolis. So now I call Oed Odipolis from time to time so she won't be confused when we make a visit to the cat vet.

Notice I say "cat" vet. Stiletto goes to the "dog" vet. The cat vet is kind and is in Wilmore. The dog vet is in Nicholasville, but is open 24 hours. The dog vet loves Stiletto and comes in to see her everytime we go. Even if it's regular shots given by a technician, the dog vet sticks her head in to see Stiletto.

New tricks, stunts, and sleeping techniques

So . . . Stiletto is beginning to learn some tricks. She has mastered peeing in the house on the blue rug at least once a week. She sings in her crate at night (it is absolutely lovely). Her best trick is her ability to snip a human toe and get away before you can even touch her. She is truly amazing.

All kidding aside . . . Stiletto can sit, laydown, stay down, wait, and find her ROPE. She will search the whole entire house until she finds her rope. She is brilliant and growing fast. Next week she is going to start teaching me humility. Thanks for stopping by to see her latest pics.

We go back for a Parvo test soon so please be praying for a negative!!! I haven't prayed to fail a test in a long time.

PARVO PUPPY

WHOA! It has been a long and RUFF week! Ha! Stiletto is home now, but she had a bout with Parvo and had to visit the emergency animal hospital for a night. She is back home now, but has developed a cough. We are headed to the doctor this afternoon to find out what's next. She is so cute and crazy it is hard to believe she is sick. She has been up the past few nights coughing. I need a vacation!
Stiletto expereinced her first snow right before the Parvo took her over. I added some pics so you could see her handy work in the yard. She covered every inch of the snow in about 30 seconds flat. Enjoy!

A Fish Tale

This is an awesome tale . . . Hoops is one of my co-workers and she thought it okay to leave her fish for the entire Thanksgiving Break (without food). We (the office) decided to steal the fish and hold it for ransom. Upon Hoops' return, she was forced to make a list of the 10 things making her a good mother. After some debate, Bruce (the fish) was returned.

Later in the day . . . Hoops went to clean Bruce's bowl and left him in a cup on the top shelf of her bookcase. We (the office) placed a fake fish on the floor with the cup lid (see pic). Upon Hoops' return . . . she had a huge meltdown (with screaming, crying, and eventually laughing).

Will she leave him at Christmas? Surely not!

Marleigh and Jessica came to Kentucky for a four day weekend. Oedipus wasn't so sure about baby noises! Oed slept under the covers for pretty much the entire weekend. Marleigh, Jessica and I enjoyed shopping and really cold weather. Only snow flurries made a showing, but the temps were just enough to keep us inside! Marleigh is b-e-a-utiful. Backyard Challenge

The continual battle of the backyard continues. It finally rained in Kentucky so I decided to try to get some grass to grow in the ex-flowerbed. I have discovered smaller is better in the gardening area!

I spent this past weekend working on the house. SURPRISE! I was transplanting the rose bushes from the back to the front when I discovered huge stepping stones under the flowerbed. I removed the flowerbed, stones, and then replaced the bed.

I did have to buy a few more stones . . . so you will notice the bright new ones on the front. I also lost my car keys during my multiple adventures to Lowe's. I'm just praying they are not under the new front path. I've taken two Advil and hope to be ready to work in the yard again by the middle of the week. The backyard is my next project!
